Dan Spatz and his wife, Nadia, are business partners infusing Healthy Flavors with passion and persistence. Healthy Flavors is founded on agriculture and fueled by a social entrepreneurial mission. They see our food systems changing, and desire to accelerate that change with intentionality and incentives that deliver more generative and sustainable outcomes for society.
In Tennessee, Dan and Nadia operate a culinary herb farm supplying wholesale and retail customers with fresh packed culinary herbs. In Arkansas, Dan is aiming to transition his family’s farm from “conventional” row crops to locally marketed specialty crops. In the process, he aims to play a role in transforming agriculture toward more sustainable farming practices, more balanced economic benefits through the supply chain and more generative health outcomes for people.
They grow: basil, bay leaves, chives, cilantro, dill, mint, oregano, rosemary, sage, sweet lavender, tarragon, thyme, lemongrass, and Heirba Santa (Hoja Santa).
Together, Dan and Nadia have a combined 59 years of experience in food and agricultural endeavors, ranging from hands-on start-ups to global, corporate food experience with the Mars Corporation. Their professional careers have focused on various facets of food, ranging from overseas food distribution programs with Catholic Relief Services to marketing, logistics, manufacturing and executive leadership positions with Mars.
