

Mahi Pono is a local Maui farming company that owns and operates approximately 41,000 acres of agricultural land in Central Maui. Mahi Pono is committed to practicing sustainable agriculture, growing food for local consumption, responsible use of natural resources, and providing high quality agricultural employment.
As of August 2023, Mahi Pono has planted more than 1.8 million trees on approximately 10,000 acres of land. In addition to their tree plantings, they have also prepared over 9,000 acres of grass pasture land to support their Maui Cattle Company grass-fed beef operations. They continue to plant more trees and work toward the full development of they farm.
Orchard and row crops currently planted include lime, lemon, orange, tangerine, coffee, avocado, macadamia nut, 'ulu (breadfruit), onions, kale, lettuce, watermelon, bananas, coconut, and lilikoi (passionfruit).
They believe their farming activities will continue to accelerate Maui’s economic diversification. As of March 2022, Mahi Pono employs over 300 Maui residents on a full-time basis. Their goal is to create more than 800 jobs in Maui County by the time the crops reach their full harvest potential.
Mahi Pono has also built strong partnerships with local vendors and consultants. They rely on their Maui-based partners for irrigation materials, nursery services, farming equipment, engineering guidance, sales and marketing, and graphic design work. Mahi Pono is strongly committed to supporting and working with the Maui business community.
