A small family run farm, Spring Valley Garden was one of the first to introduce microgreens to their area in Pennsylvania.
The 14,000 square feet greenhouse was built in 1997, and outdoors there’s an additional 3/4 of an acre of chives. They have also been expanding their herb capacity over the last few years, to try fill as much of the demand as possible, with the addition of their chive fields, as well as extra square footage under roof for the rest of their herbs. Spring Valley Garden also provides their local area with herbs, microgreens, and shoots, with everything being cut to order to ensure that their customers receive the freshest product possible. Herbs grown include mint, thyme, rosemary, sage, chervil, and chives. Microgreens include micro mix, bull’s blood, cilantro, arugula, radish, red kohlrabi, white bok choi, Japanese garnet mustard, amaranth, red vein sorrel, basil mix, and celery. They also grow pea shoots, popcorn shoots, and sunflower shoots.
